THACO AUTO inaugurates production technology of THACO Bus Plant and launches new-generation THACO Bus and Truck models

On February 3, 2025, at the THACO Chu Lai Industrial Park (Quang Nam), THACO AUTO held the inauguration ceremony of production technology at the THACO Bus Plant and launched new product lines of the THACO Bus and THACO Truck brands.

1. THACO AUTO — THACO AUTO inaugurates new production technology at THACO Bus Plant and launches new-generation THACO Bus and Truck models

THACO AUTO invested in and upgraded the THACO Bus Plant with a modern, automated, and smart production line, integrated with open green spaces inside and outside the factory. The welding workshop is equipped with chassis production lines and welding robots, combined with laser cutting equipment for steel plates and tubes, ensuring production from individual components to the complete body. The ED coating line can dip products up to 13.7 meters long. The assembly workshop features advanced bus production technology, integrated with the interior component production line, ensuring synchronization, flexibility, convenience for component distribution, and optimized production costs. The THACO Bus Plant also has been using the SCADA system to monitor production activities on each line, and later will boost digital transformation by operating MES (manufacturing execution system) and ERP (enterprise resource planning), gradually forming a smart factory that meets the customization requirements of domestic and export customers.

2. Hệ thống Transfer — The bus body transfer system from paint workshop to assembly workshop

On this occasion, THACO AUTO also introduced new-generation THACO Bus and THACO Truck models, reaffirming their mastery of design and technology through market research, product development, design, simulation testing, and prototype production.

3. Line-up sản phẩm THACO Bus — New-generation THACO Bus lineup

The new-generation Bus products include the CRUIZER (20-47 seats) and MOBIHOME sleeper bus (22-34 beds) featuring front and rear LED Projector lights that meet European standards. The all-new interior is designed in a modern, minimalist style with harmonious colors and environmentally friendly materials. The buses are equipped with a synchronized drivetrain system, including the engine, gearbox, and suspension. The latest generation Weichai engine offers a 10-30% increase in power and torque, improving fuel efficiency and reducing vehicle weight. There are two transmission options: automatic (AT) and manual (MT), both featuring power-assisted gear shifting for smoother operation. The suspension system, combined with stabilizer bars, ensures smooth rides on all terrains. The bus body is designed with a monocoque structure and a six-arc chassis to enhance rigidity and stability.

4. Line-up sản phẩm THACO Truck — THACO Truck lineup

Simultaneously, THACO AUTO has completed the lineup of THACO Truck with versions ranging from 1.5 tons to 14 tons, and cabin sizes from 1,735 to 2,250 mm. These products feature a new drivetrain system, consisting of the Engine - Gearbox - Drivetrain, designed in a synchronized manner to meet functional requirements and match traffic conditions and customer needs.

These new projects and products launched on this occasion underscore THACO AUTO's determination and efforts to enhance production capacity, its aim to become an ASEAN-level vehicle manufacturing center, contributing to the value of Vietnamese-branded vehicles, and setting the stage for international market expansion.
